Hilary Aiken
Hilary trained in
the north east, before deciding to move to London where
she worked at St Bartholomew's Hospital and then the Royal
National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. Her interest
in out-patients and hand injuries developed further when
she moved to run the Out-Patient Physiotherapy Department
at Bedford, and later at Haslemere Hospital. Hilary moved
into private practice when she and Sue started the West
Byfleet Physiotherapy Clinic.
Outside of work her interests include
playing tennis, photography, cooking and walking through
the beautiful local countryside with her even more beautiful
golden labrador!

Sue
Austin
Sue trained in London,
then worked at the Charing Cross Hospital before moving
to a large hospital in British Columbia, Canada.
Following her return to these shores, she worked as a physiotherapist
with British Airways. She moved into private practice in
Guildford, where she met Hilary and they started the West
Byfleet Physiotherapy Clinic.
She likes treating all musculo-skeletal problems, but probably
'backs' come out as her favourite area to treat!
Sue is a keen golfer, as well as enjoying walking and Pilates.

Andrea Bird
Andy
qualified at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham,
and followed this by working at St.Peter's Hospital Chertsey
and Woking Community Hospital before joining the West Byfleet
Physiotherapy Clinic.
She enjoys all aspects of physiotherapy, but has a special
interest in the knee joint.
Her own sports include cycling, walking, badminton and sailing.

Claudine Chiplin
Claudine has been
with the clinic since 1996, when she stepped in to cover
when Hilary and Sue discovered they had both booked the
same holiday!
As well as being a Chartered Physiotherapist, she has a
Sports Injuries Diploma. A retired gymnast and hurdler,
Claudine has a passion for treating sports injuries and
has worked in many areas of sport from rugby to ice skating.

Sue Gaastra
Sue qualified in
1978. Her major post graduate courses have been in manipulative
Manual Therapy and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. She
also examines on Manual Therapy at Masters Level. Every
year she organises the physiotherapy around the Isle of
Dogs for the London Marathon.
Her outside interests include ballet, tap, singing, amateur
dramatics, walking and skiing.

Karen Painter
Karen trained at
the Middlesex Hospital. She worked at Whipps Cross Hospital
in London, then went out to the sunny climes of New Zealand
before returning to Woking Community Hospital.
She has a keen interest in treating headaches, musculo-skeletal
problems, as well as specific interest in acupuncture. Karen
enjoys music, and plays in a band, as well as walking, tennis
and swimming.

Jeremy Symes
Jeremy trained at
Brunel University and qualified in 2000. He initially worked
at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital before joining Kingston
Primary Care Trust. He combines this role with his work
at West Byfleet Physiotherapy Clinic. He enjoyed treating
a variety of musculo-skeletal conditions but has a particular
interest in necks, backs and shoulders. He is a qualified
Pilates instructor. He is currently undertaking post graduate
study in western medical acupuncture. Jeremy's interests
include playing guitar, distance running and golf.

Shernaz Screwvala
Shernaz is a clinical specialist in the
field of women's health; as well as looking after our ante-
and post-natal ladies, she also covers areas such as incontinence
and all other aspects of women's health. To compliment this
she is a qualified Pilates teacher and runs both individual
sessions and classes.
Lois Kua
Lois is a clinical specialist in the area of neurological
physiotherapy. She looks after our patients who have suffered
strokes and other neurological problems. She also does most
of our home visits for those patients unable to get to the
clinic.

Andrew Jenner
Andrew is the newest member of the
WBPC team. He qualified as an Osteopath from the College of
Osteopaths in London after a career in the oil and gas exploration
industry. He takes a structural and classical approach to
osteopathy, addressing the underlying problem and treating
the body as a whole. Andrew has a particular interest in the
remedial treatment of sport and related injuries (racquet
sport, contact sport, golf, running, swimming etc). He also
has a strong participating interest in sports, represented
GB in the World Triathlon Middle Distance Championships in
2006 and continues to participate in Ironman distance triathlon
events. |
